Khan Academy

How the Internet Works
What I have learned in the videos is how the internet has changed the many lives of people in our lifetime. I learned that before there were web browsers, there were many machines that transferred data in order to receive what you want on your screen. I also learned that the internet is made up of a bunch of one's and zero's. Another thing I learned is that the internet has many servers and without the servers the internet would not be able to work because in each server that is where the IP address's are located.

To always stay positive of how one does their work and accomplishes it.

Key 6: Consideration

It is to be sure of what you're doing or to hope that it comes out the way you want it. It is to have the courage to do what you're afraid of or having the courage of willing to do something you know will be a good or bad outcome.

Key 10: Confidence

"You only get confidence by doing things over and over again."

Reflection: The meaning of this one is to have trial and error in order to know what you're doing wrong or how you're doing it wrong. It is to never give up and to always have confidence in your self. To have the thought that if I give up it will lead to something that I will never experience. Also how if you have the confidence to do something then you have the confidence to do everything in your way and then you will never give up.

Reflection: I think that the 10 keys have helped me in the way I view life in my own perspective. How I think differently now than what I used to. I am using confidence right as a main key. I will incorporate these keys as to complete all my goals and making sure I don't give up.

The Seven Habits

The Seven Habits

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Habit 1: Be Proactive
Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind
Habit 3: Put First Things First
Habit 4: Think Win-Win
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood
Habit 6: Synergize
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw
Habit 1: Be Proactive
"Habit 1 is the key to unlocking all the other habits and that's why it comes first. It says, "Ia m the caption of my life. I can choose my attitude. I'm responsible for my own hapiness or unhapiness. I am the driver's seat of my destiny, not just a passenger."
Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind
"Control your own destiny or someone else will." (Jack Welch)

If you don't have control of yourself in life, you will never accomplish anything. If you have control of your life than you have accomplished many things because you have control. In life if someone doesn't control you eventually someone will.

Habit 3: Put First Things First
"Organize and execute around priorities."

Putting first things first is to be organize in different areas. Such as being in order with your doings. and also to be on everything daily in order not to be irresponsible and slagging on your daily doings. Being organized helps you in being a very responsible persons and a person who cares. In order to be that kind of person you have to be very positive and caring about your do's and others.

Habit 4: Think Win-Win
"Think win-win or no deal."

To be in this state of mind you have to be in a perspective of point A to point B. It is to never be distracted and to always be in a positive mood about anything. Whether it being something that is for you or against you. To have this kind of mentality you need to be very loyal to what you want to accomplish in order to complete the task. If you give up than you never will complete anything because you will always be negative towards the situation.

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood
"Diagnose before you prescribe."

In order for one to be understood you need to be open minded and understand others. To be understood you need to be very understanding for the person you are talking too. You will also be needing to be very respectful in the other persons point of view. If you gain respect of the others you will then be able to be understood in many different ways.

Habit 6: Synergize
"The whole is greater than the sum of its parts (1+1=3)"

The meaning of this quote is that it represents that the whole work that you do is greater than what you do as the answer. It also means that all the time you're trying it will not equal as much as the work you put into to get the answer.
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw
Four Dimensions of Self-Renewal: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Social/Emotional

To sharpen the saw it would mean to have reset the way you view things in different ways. How one should think or feel about a situation but it should be positive. To always renew your social terms and your physical terms too. Also how someone would rejuvinate ones self

Reflection: The 7 habits has helped in ways of learning how one speaks and communicates to each other. In ways of making new friends and also learing how one person is. Ways I can imply the 7 habits in my life is using it around people I know or people who I want to befriend.

Three Fundamental Techniques in Handling People

Three Fundamental Techniques
in Handling People
Technique 1: Don't criticize, codemn or complain.

Reflection: To not criticize is to be open minded and to accept things the way others want. To not be judgemental towards others. To accept others opinions and to be free of opinions. Never to be rude or impolite. Or to be critical about everything. It is wrong to be rude towards others and it is always better to me polite and never have a negative attitude.

Quote: "If you want to gather honey, don't kick over the beehive."

One way I will put this into my life is to be polite towards opinions and people. Then to never be rude against persons opinions and statements.

Technique 2: Give honest and sincere appreciation

Reflection: To be honest is to be open minded and bold. Also to be sincere you have to be honest and bold. If you are the opposite of tha you would be a liar or a rude person rather than someone who is being honest. To appreciate someone they must have done something in order to help you or guide in a way. Giving appreciation is noticing that someone helped you and you are trying to say thank you. That will help a lot in the friend relationship and also help the relationship of your companion.

Quote: "The big secret in dealing with people."

I will put this into my daily life by applying it to my friends and family. Also to be very friendly and kind to one another. I'll never be rude because that will ruin the friendship in many way.

Technique 3: Arouse in the other person an eager want.

Quote: "He who can do this has the whole world with him. He who cannot, walks a lonely way."

Reflection: To arouse in the person is to be interested in the other persons wants. To be observant in the person and their likings. One way to not do this is to be ignorant or only rant on yourself rather than the other person. Also to always be the person who is always interested in the other person you are talking to or talking about. It is always better to bloat about the person rather than yourself.

One way I would put this into my daily life is to apply it to my friends and family and to put it to use everyday. To never be ignorant of others and to never be conceded.

Final Reflection:
These techinques can a help a person to be a better person and teach them to be more than what they are rather than to bring themselves down. These techniques have taught me to be a better person to myself and to others. It has also taught me to be very kind and understanding towawds others rather than being mean and abusive. I will apply this to my every day life to make new friends and to be very kind and helpful with other people.

School Break Days

School Break Days

I watched new movies that were in last years list. I met new family members I never met before. Such as new cousins and uncles. I spent most of my days in my house doing nothing. I went ice skating. I also went close to San Francisco.

Class / Self Evaluation

Class / Self Evaluation
What I liked about the class was how simplistic it was and how it had to do with computers and technology. I would improve the class by making the class a little more entertaining and less quiet. I think I did best in this class because I tried to do my best in this class so I could get better grade. I am commited to be a CTR person because I am willing to choose the right in my life and with others.

How to Win Friends and Influence People

How to Win Friends and Influence People
Six Ways to Make People Like you. If you want people to like you........

Dale Carnegie
Rule 1: Become genuinely interested in other people.
1)"Do this and you will be welcome anywhere."
2)"You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in othe people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you."
3)"Ask questions to other people, questions that they would enjoy answering."

Quote: "Find something you're passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it." - Julia Child
Reflection: This rule is saying that in order for someone or something to have a lot of freinds you need to be interested in the person or thing you are trying to befriend. Such as asking questions. Also to be very welcoming to one. Trying to be very open minded towards the persons thoughts or feelings. If you are the opposite you will lack friends and or lack social skills. If you do the opposite of what the book tells you to do, you will not have success in having or finding friends because you will not be able to withstand the person or yourself.

Rule 2:Smile
1)"Actions speak louder than words, and a smile says, "I like you. You make me happy. I am glad to see you."
2)"You don't feel like smiling? Then force yourself to smile."
3)"It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a business, and is the countersign (witness or indication) of friends."

Quote: "A warm smile is the universal language of kindness." - William Arthur Ward
Reflection: The rule to smile is to have always a positive mind. To never have negative thoughts over people and ideas. To smile is like a metaphor of always keeping up. To never have a bad attitude to people. Always having a smile means welcoming and gratitude to the person. If you don't have smile you seem to people as a bad person and also as a wrong person. To have a smile you need to very open minded and to never have wrong opinions about other opinions.

Rule 3: Remember Names
1)"A man's name is to him the sweetest and most important sound in any language."
2)"If you don't remember names you are headed for trouble."

Quote: "If I'm gonna tell a story, I'm start with my name." - Kendrick Lamar

Reflection: A reason you need to remember names is to show interest in the other person. To show how someone you talk too, you actually pay attention to what they say rather than being distracted. To remember names you need to ask about it. In order to ask about it you need to be interested in the person. You need to take importance in the persons personal life and his or her personality. It may take some time to remember someones name but once you learn it you will never forget it.

How to Remember Names:

  1. Focus on just the person.
  2. Repeat their name out loud.
  3. Ask their name if not heard correctly.
  4. Make references to the persons name.
  5. Ask a person about the other persons name.
  6. Write it down.
Rule 4: Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.
"If you aspire to be a good coversationalist, be an attentive listener."
"Remember that the man you are talking to is a hundred times more interested in himself and his wants and his problems than he is in you and your problems"
Quote: "It takes a great man to be a good listener." - Calvin Coolidge

Reflection: To be a good listener you need to be interested in the person rather than talk just about yourself. You need to make the person understand that you want to know them for who they are and you want to learn more about them and their past life. To be a good listener you need to be very open in opinions and in thoughts or ideas of the other persons beliefs or ideas. You cannot be negative towards the person because that is when the other doesn't feel comfortable with you or being around you. In order to make friends you need to be very heartful and welcoming.

Rule 5: Talk in terms of the other man's interest.
"The loyal road to a man's heart is to talk to him about the things he treasures most."

Quote: "An investment in knowledge pays the best interest" - Benjamin Franklin

Reflection: To know someone is to be very interested in the person you want to know. The way to start to a conversation is to talk about the other persons interest. To have importance in the person in order to befriend him. To always be interested in the person in order for that person to befriend you. Also to never deny someones likes. Such as being bored of the person or being lazy towards the person. Always have a positive attitude in the person and never be down towards them.

Rule 6: Make the other person feel important--and do it sincerely.
"The desire to be important is the deepest urge in human nature." (John Dewey) "Helping people feel important and appreciated works magic."

Quote: "Love is when the other person's hapiness is more important than your own." - H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Reflection: In order to befriend someone you need to set all your attention to them. Such like making them feel important. To be very interested in the other person as in what they like and what they don't like . To be interested in there behavior and how they act. To make them feel better about themselve. Also to have a positive attitude towards rather than having a negative one.

Reflection: Write an overall final reflection in this post regarding the "Six Ways to Make People Like You." Include your deepest thoughts and feelings. Write what you commit to do to apply the Six Rules.

The ways to make people like you is a very important set of rules because it changes the way you are as a person. You become a better person. Also you communicate way better to others rather than being shy. You become a better care giver. Tend to be very caring to others and about yourself. Then become very open minded to others their opinions. The ways to make people like you will be implied in my life because it will help communicate with others and to help me not be very shy.

Such as making a name for yourself or having for something you want to be in life.

"The Six Attitudes of High Achievers"

"The Six Attitudes of High Achievers"

John R. Noe

High Achievers......
  1. Make no small plans
Reflection: If you want to be a high achiever you have to think big. If you think small you won't get far. So if you think large you'll be what you want to be. All of your dreams will come true if you are consistent with your goals in life. To always follow your dreams in order to achieve what you want. If you give up you will get no where and you will just let yourself down.

Quote: "Make no small plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood and probably themselves will not  be realized." - Daniel Burnham

I will try to do my best in order to succeed in life and to never quit towards my goal. Never will give up and stop wit my goals. I will try as hard a I can in my daily life to finish what I have started and to make all my goals a big one.

2. Do what they fear

Reflection: To do what someone fears is to over come your fear. To have confidence in what you want to do. Also to have a positive attitude towards your fear or someones fear. To have a fear is to be scared in a thing or an obstcale in life. If you over come it you can over come your other fears or others fears. In order to over come your fear you need to stand up to it. Also to not be afraid as to what may come when standing up to certain

Quote: "If you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles." - Sun Tzu

I will do my best in order to over come some of my fears I have. To set goals against my fear in order to over come it. I will also not quit to over come my fear because if I quit there will be no point in having the thought of over coming it because I just waisted my time.

3. Are willing to prepare

Reflection: To be prepared is to have confidence in what you doing. To be postive in your goals and to not quit in your goals. To always know what you're going to do in the future and the present. To never let yourself down. Always be in order to what you want to do. Never be disorganized in your way of life.

Quote: "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail." - Benjamin Franklin

I will be prepared in life. I also will be prepared in my goals in order to surpass them. Never will I be lazy towards my life. I will never be lazy towards my goals.

4. Are willing to risk failure

Reflection: In order to fail you need to at least try it. In order to try what you want to exceed, you need to be ready in failure and in disappointment. If you fail, you will learn from your mistakes and from others mistakes. As in you will see where you did wrong and you will try to fix it in any way to see if you can do better next time. Everyone should be ready to fail because not everybody is perfect and someway you will make a mistake either by accident or on purpose.

Quote: "I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying." - Michael Jordan

I will add this to my daily life by trying and repeating as much as I can for as long until I get it right. I will never give up nor will I give up on someone else.

5.Are teachable
Reflection: To be teachable you have to be open minded and also very non-critical. To be open minded you have to be very positive about opinions. Such as being taught something that is very challenging and then having to do trial and error then finally having an outcome that you are acceptable with. To not be judgemental to thoughts or ideas. Never be rude about a way someone is teaching or giving a . If be rude you may not understand it or be very lost when it comes to reviewing the lesson you have just been taught.

Quote: "I remind myself every morning: Nothing I say this day will teach me anything. So if I'm going to learn, I must do it by listening." - Larry King

I will be very open minded about everything one says or does. I will tend to be very respectful when one teaches me in a lesson or lecture. I will never disrespect someone for what they believe even if it goes against my beliefs.

6. Have Heart
Reflection: To have heart you need to be loving. To be very caring about others and yourself. To never do anything bad to anyone or yourself. Be caring to others and to the ones you love. Having a bad heart is to be selfish to others and to yourself. To have a bad reputation. Or to also just be a bad person in general.

Quote: "Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye." - H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

I will apply this to my daily life as in being generous to others and to myself at the same time. To be very loving and caring to one another. Also to be forgiving to the ones that I caused or have caused me pain.

Reflection: The six attitudes of high achievers has helped me in my daily life when I have applied them. It helped me be a different person in general. To think differently and to be very respectful. To never mistreat someone for who they are or where they came from. Also to be very open minded in opinions and different view on things. These six attitudes has molded the way I view things now.
